New York City in Photographs, 1962-72

 

People on Bench photograph print large view At first glance, this is just a photo of people sitting in the sunshine on a park bench reading their newspapers. But as we look closer we see the crumpled old woman in the foreground; her quiet plight is of no concern to the people beside her.
