George Bellows
George Bellows (1882-1925) was a student of Robert Henri and member of the "Ashcan School". In addition to pleasant subjects such as the winter scene at right, he also painted New York's darker side, as in the brutal boxing scenes of Stag at Sharkey's and Both Members of This Club.
