The cover story was titled, "Civil Rights: The Moral Crisis" and explored the efforts of the Kennedy administration to promote and protect civil rights in the United States. The cover painting shows President John F. Kennedy and his brother US Attorney General Robert Kennedy in deep conversation on the use of the National Guard to remove protesters (led by George Wallace) in order to allow two black students to attend classes at the University of Alabama.
